This is a Serious Cupcake!

The ladies of Suite 106 Cupcakery are always baking something tantalizing, and as a regular customer, I try to stay in the know.

Sometimes, I’m able to remain strong – look at the photo, fantasize and go on about my day. Other times, I’m compelled to take action, especially with a feature flavor.

What follows is a recount of the later.

It was a Friday morning and I had indulged in a cupcake everyday since Monday. The last thing I needed was another.

I was minding my business, when here come the ladies of Suite 106 on Twitter, “This is happening… again… #ferrerorocher.. #hazelnutmilkchocolatecupcakes…”

You see, their Hazelnut Milk Chocolate is filled with Callebaut Belgian milk chocolate ganache, topped with hazelnut frosting, Nutella, hazelnuts and a Ferrero Rocher.

In an instant, my agenda for the day changed. This was the cupcake that eluded me last month. I didn’t heed my own advice and arrived at Suite 106 too late. I had missed it. I was not about to let the same mistake happen again. Oh, no. I replied to the tweet, letting Suite 106 know that I would be in that day!

Nothing can stand between a determined woman and cupcakes. True to my word, later that afternoon, success was mine. I went home to savor my victory.

I know you’re wondering if it was worth it. Let me begin by saying I am a professional and this cupcake was not for the faint of heart. This was a serious cupcake!

It was deliciously decadent. Its center was generously filled with milk chocolate, the frosting was incredibly rich, and there was half of a Ferrero Rocher on top. By some miracle of cooking science, the moist cake held everything together tastefully.

Half way through, I found myself slowing down. Three quarters in, I took a break – a break! I never take a break. After I resumed and finished the cupcake, I washed it down with a glass of milk. I was thoroughly content.

To those enticed to partake next time the Hazelnut Milk Chocolate is featured, words of caution. You may need to share or enjoy the cupcake in portions. If you’re confident you can handle it yourself at once, good for you, bring it.

To the ladies of Suite 106, kudos, you have done it again. I look forward to the next temptation.
